The company was founded by Mr. Bert van der Merwe who has been providing repairs, maintenance and parts services to the mines for over 19 years in Botswana. Mr. van der Merwe noticed that there are major opportunities for risk reduction and for cost saving measures to be implemented in the mines. With the more recent downturn in international economies, the need to implement cost cutting measures has risen considerably and so ZADON was born.
Mr. van der Merwe is a qualified Caterpillar Mechanic with more than 18 years’ experience in heavy duty equipment for various mines. He is familiar with the stringent requirements relating to providing services to mining groups and understands the need to comply fully with the maps made by the group and the policies of the group, particularly as regards safety and security.
